You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your being, and with all your mind…You must love your neighbor as you love yourself.
Matthew 22: 37, 39
We United Methodists (isn’t united an interesting concept?) are busy discussing and working toward a change in who we are and how we act. We have been at it for some time. When all our discussing on the current topic is finalized by a decision of the General Conference…what difference will we make?
What difference will we make that we basically can not make now? Will we love our neighbors better or more perfectly than we do now?
We are not talking about our intentions or how we will be able to advertise our community…we are talking about making a difference for all people.
May the words of our mouths, the meditations of our hearts, … and the actions of our lives… be acceptable to God!...and to all our neighbors.
Let’s not wait … let’s make a difference now.
