In Genesis 28:10–22, Jacob is running for his life after deceiving his brother, alone and afraid in an unfamiliar place, when God meets him in a dream at Bethel. He sees a ladder reaching from earth to heaven with angels ascending and descending, and he hears God reaffirm the covenant promise and declare, “I am with you… I will not leave you.” What meaning does this God sighting have for us in today's world?
